‘Pauses’ was released on April 7, 2018 by Izumi Gould. It contains 10 tracks of merciless HNW energy, utilizing a wonderful use of various sounds and distortion; going beyond punishing textures of overlapped arrangements and looped constructions of various ranges in frequency.

I had the liberty of reviewing one of his releases ‘Real‘ and I’ve got to say I’m really digging the consistent style he presents; evolving with sound and arrangements, everything here and in his past discography gives voice and form to something rather abstract. Izumi Gould creates something vicious and ever-evolving but minimal and grinding. Some tracks focusing primarily on bleeding your ears from the inside out; creating such thick textures of harsh noise and looped mutilated sounds to cascade into a brutal mechanism of absolute torment; while others remained less simple; digitized noise attacks, all designed to pummel and punish!

Keeping the visceral and psychedelic atmosphere abstract and letting the brutal mixtures of cut up noise and harsh power tracks generate a broad range of dissonant vistas, its energy of a more experimental approach to the use of harsh noise was integrated into the album very well; seamlessly shifting through a wide variety of chaos and torment while comprising itself of trashed angularity and a heavy fog of muffled sound design; this is only the beginning of a wonderful noise artist!
